A little learning

Those truly learned are humble, simple and unassuming. That’s the message contained in the following lines.

A little learning is a dangerous thing;
drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring:
there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
and drinking largely sobers us again.

(Taken from An Essay on Criticism, Alexander Pope 1709)
